What Book embodies your word for the year?

The next step in making your word for the year come alive is to find a book that represents the ideas and the concepts in your word.

Some examples for me is one year, my word for the year was presence, and I read the book, the Power of Now, and what it really showed me is the fact that I'm not being present most of my life.

One year, my word for the year was Peace, and I really wanted to experience that peace. And I read this amazing book, Peace Is Every Step, by Thich Nhat Hanh. And that was mind-blowing. I couldn't believe that I didn't have to wait for peace, that every moment of my life could be a peaceful moment. One year I wanted to explore vulnerability, so I read the book Daring Greatly by Brene Brown, and what that helped me is really unpack what vulnerability meant.

Now what we need to remember that the word is not a goal; it's a shift in being; it's a shift in identity. Here's the magic, though. If you start telling people your word, they're gonna come up to you and say, Hey, I read this book. You need to read it. It'll really help you on your word. Or if you understand their word for your partner, your kids, your parents, your colleagues, your team members, your clients, what you'll be able to understand is what's really live in them.

And then you can find a book and recommend it to them. I hope this helps. On that note, stay joyful.
