PEACE IS EVERY STEP

Book by Thich Nhat Hanh

Part 18: ANGER IS ENERGY

Anger is a powerful emotion that can have destructive effects on our lives and those around us.

However, it’s essential to recognize that anger is a form of energy. By learning to harness this energy effectively, we can transform it into something positive.

Thich Nhat Hanh uses the metaphor of cooking potatoes to illustrate this point. Raw potatoes may not be appealing, but when we apply energy—like boiling them—we can create a delicious meal.

Similarly, by “cooking” our anger, we can turn unhelpful emotions into constructive actions, channeling our energy for good rather than destruction.
